PBM Ortho FAQs
- PBM Ortho should only be used for orthodontic treatment and as prescribed by your dentist.
- Do not use the device for non-orthodontic treatment.
- If you experience any pain, discomfort or unusual feeling in the mouth or jaw immediately discontinue use and contact your dentist.
Can PBM Ortho be used with metal braces and clear aligners?
Yes. PBM Ortho can be used with either clear aligners or metal braces. There is no restriction on which Aligner system or metal system your dentist chooses to use for your treatment.
Can I take medications to help with the pain from orthodontic treatment?

How long do I have to keep the mouthpiece in my mouth?
The recommended treatment time is 4 minutes per arch.
Do I have to bite hard for the full 4 minutes?
It is recommended to keep light firm pressure but not to bite hard as this may hurt your jaw and can damage the mouthpiece.
How often should I use PBM Ortho?
It is recommended to use PBM Ortho once per day and at the same time each day.
Can you use PBM Ortho if pregnant?
It is not recommended to use PBM Ortho if pregnant.
Caring for your PBM Ortho Device
How do you clean the device?
- Detach the mouthpiece from the battery pack.
- Wash it gently, using clean warm water or the aligner cleaner.
- To dry, lightly rub the mouthpiece with a clean dry towel and let it air dry. Do not shake or pat-down hard on the mouthpiece to dry it.
How often should I clean my PBM Ortho?
Cleaning is simple and should be done after removing the mouthpiece after every use.
Can you use toothpaste to clean the device?
No. Toothpaste and toothbrushing is not recommended to clean the mouthpiece.
Can it be submerged in water to be cleaned?
Yes the mouthpiece can be placed in water but not the electrical cables.
What is the most effective way to use the battery?.
To prevent the deterioration of the battery it is best that the battery is fully used before recharging.
Warranty & Damage
PBM Healing Warranty
PHM Healing warrants to the Purchaser that for a period of one (2) years (“The Warranty Period” from the date of acceptance, that the Product shall be free from material defects in materials and workmanship.
PBM Healing’s Warranty does not extend to any Product that (a) is modified or altered by the Purchaser; (b) is not maintained or operated to PBM Healing’s recommendations set forth in the user manual actually received by the Purchaser; (c) has its serial number removed or altered; or (d) is treated with abuse, negligence or other improper treatment (including, without limitation, use outside the recommended environment).
During the Warranty Period, PBM Healing will replace any defective product with a new comparably product. The Purchaser must return the defective Product to PBM Healing at its own cost for replacement.
What happens if PBM ortho malfunctions?
The device will be replaced free of charge.
What happens if a PBM Ortho is used for a year and a half and then it needs replacing?
The device is replaced with a brand new one with a new 2-year warranty.
Can a PBM Ortho be used for more than 2 years?
Yes. A PBM Ortho device can be used for more than 2 years but there will be no warranty and the performance of the device will decrease due to the wear and fatigue of the components.
